One day’s activities include equipment, instruction and transport; all you need is your personal clothing, lunch and a willing body. Personal clothing for all activities should include old warm gear, hat, gloves and thick socks (if boots are needed).

Adventure: this can include a combination of gorge scrambling, rock climbing and abseiling depending on the requirements of the group, venue availability and weather conditions. Specialist clothing and equipment provided: helmet, waterproofs, boots and harness.

Canoeing or Kayaking: Usually an introductory session in the morning to grasp the basics is followed by a journey down the River Wye. Weather and river conditions may require an alternative venue. Additional personal clothing should include old trainers – expect to get wet! Specialist clothing and equipment provided as appropriate: helmet, wet suit, canoe cag, buoyancy aid, spraydeck, canoe or kayak and paddle.

Caving: Caves exist within an hour’s drive of the Centre and a typical underground visit will give everyone the opportunity to experience a wide range of cave environments. Caving need not be strenuous and the route can usually be arranged in passages that are predominantly dry and spacious. Specialist clothing and equipment provided: helmet, oversuit, wellies, lamp/battery/belt.

Hill Walking: The Brecon Beacons National Park offers tremendous scope for walking terrain from the more adventurous ascents up Pen-y-Fan and Waun Fach to more leisurely strolls in the rolling hills of Radnorshire and the Elan Valley. A guided walk can be arranged to suit your personal preferences; Centre Instructors all have a wealth of local knowledge and experience ensuring that you gain the most from your day out. Specialist clothing and equipment provided: waterproofs, rucksack and boots.

Mountain Biking: (age 13 and over) A guided route will involve a tour of the local area taking in as much off road riding as conditions and fitness permit. A variety of routes are available for both the hardened rider and those who prefer a leisurely cycle around the quiet country lanes and tracks. Specialist clothing and equipment provided: helmet, waterproofs and mountain bike.
